The LTA’s vision is “Tennis Opened Up” and its mission is the transform communities through tennis by making it welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring to everyone. We have a similar approach to developing and promoting padel, one of the fastest growing sports in the country.
The Investment Advisory Group supports the LTA by providing independent oversight and expert guidance on the performance of the organisation’s investment portfolio.
Through two mandates held by LTA and its official charity, LTA Tennis Foundation, the Investment Advisory Group oversees the management of medium-term funds (currently with W1M and Rothchild & Co), totalling c£45m. The total held in short-term funds in money markets and UK gilts are of a similar magnitude.
Working under the authority of the LTA Audit Committee, it reviews and evaluates the results achieved by external fund managers, assesses whether investment strategies remain appropriate versus risk profiles approved by respective boards, and offers informed recommendations to help safeguard the LTA’s financial assets. Through its scrutiny and advice, the group helps to ensure that the LTA’s funds are managed responsibly, transparently, and in line with the organisation’s long-term objectives.
As the Chair of the Investment Advisory Group, your role will be to:
- Lead the Investment Advisory Group and ensure it fulfils its remit as a sub-committee of the Audit Committee
- Ensure governance, integrity and transparency in all Investment Advisory Group activities
- Chair all Investment Advisory Group meetings and oversee agendas, papers, and effective minute-taking
- Lead reviews of investment strategy, manager performance and risk
- Oversee due diligence and recommendations on fund managers
- Report to the Audit Committee after each meeting and normally attending in person on an annual basis
- Support membership review and ensure Fit & Proper requirements are met
- Lead annual effectiveness review of the Investment Advisory Group
