About The Role

Our vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’, and our mission is to transform communities through tennis, focusing on three areas – making tennis welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring to everyone.

The role of the Chair is to lead an inclusive, cohesive, and effective Board that supports and helps shape the strategic agenda, provides a sounding board for the LTA Executive, and supports Tennis for Britain with its multiplicity of stakeholders, including the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).

Term
The appointment will be made for an initial three-year term, which can be renewed until a maximum of three terms.

Time commitment
During the course of the year, it is anticipated the Chair will commit the equivalent of one day a week to the LTA. There will be occasions when more time will be required (for example, presence at the Wimbledon Championships). Board meetings are held five times per year, with additional Board calls held on a needs must basis. In addition, the Chair will chair the Nomination Committee and attend the Remuneration Committee, as well as some AELTC and Wimbledon Championship meetings.

Remuneration
The role is unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The Chair will have access to tickets for LTA tournaments, the Wimbledon Championships and international tournaments.

Please note, the application window for this role closes on Friday 3rd January 2025. The full job brief is in the attached Job Description.
